Biography

Growing up on a multigenerational family farm in Illinois, David developed a deep connection to agriculture through hands-on experience working on his families western Illinois grain and cattle farm. This practical background instilled a lifelong commitment to advocating for rural communities and sustainable agricultural practices. His involvement in organizations such as the National Agricultural Marketing Association (NAMA) and the Agricultural Future of America (AFA) has allowed him to take on leadership roles and further refine his understanding of global agricultural markets.

David’s passion for international relations is closely tied to his study of Russian language and culture. He has participated in multiple study abroad programs, including immersive experiences in Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Panama, and Italy. His linguistic skills, bolstered by his participation in the U.S. State Department’s Critical Language Scholarship Program, have enhanced his ability to engage with diverse communities.

Professionally, David has gained valuable experience through internships. Including the Nancy Pelosi Foreign Affairs Internship Program (FAIP) with the U.S. State Department's Bureau of Energy Resources, where he worked on policy analysis and communications, and with the Illinois Natural History Survey, where he contributed to invasive species research. His goal is to apply these skills in a career that combines his passion for agriculture with his interest in international trade, focusing on expanding American agricultural interests abroad.
